Okmulgee County Humane Society

The Okmulgee County Humane Society works to improve the lives of homeless animals throughout Okmulgee County while helping build a more responsible and compassionate community for pets and the people who care for them. Through rescue, foster care, adoption, transport partnerships, and community-based spay and neuter efforts, the organization helps animals move from uncertain circumstances toward safe and permanent homes. Supported by volunteers, fosters, adopters, donors, and community partners, the Humane Society also works to reduce pet overpopulation and strengthen awareness of responsible animal care. Deep Fork National Wildlife Refuge

The Deep Fork National Wildlife Refuge protects thousands of acres of bottomland hardwood forest, wetlands, and wildlife habitat along the Deep Fork River in eastern Oklahoma. Located near Okmulgee, the refuge provides opportunities for hunting, fishing, birdwatching, photography, hiking, and seasonal outdoor recreation while preserving an important natural ecosystem within the region. Annual Celebration · 50th Anniversary 2026

Muscogee Nation Festival

The Muscogee Nation Festival is one of Okmulgee's largest annual celebrations, bringing together culture, community, entertainment, sports, food, art, and tradition across multiple days each summer. Hosted annually in late June by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, the festival draws visitors from across Oklahoma and beyond while celebrating the continuing culture, heritage, and community life of the Muscogee people.
